Driving offshore wind scale-up through research and innovation

The session will show how multidisciplinary research in FME NorthWind and SFI Blues contributes to knowledge, innovation, and practical solutions across the offshore wind value chain. Using examples such as seabed and anchoring, welding, installation, and condition monitoring, we illustrate how research can support industrial scaling, reliability, and more efficient project execution, from components to processes and system-level innovation. We also highlight the complexity of floating wind array design and the need to integrate insights across disciplines to achieve robust, cost-effective solutions.
